Family Welcomes Baby Girl On Vijayadashami, Doctor Dresses Her Up As 'Maa Ambe'
A video is going viral from a hospital where a doctor brings a newborn baby girl to her family, dressed as 'Maa Ambe'.

The festival of Navratri marks one of the biggest celebrations among Hindus in India. Honouring the nine forms of Goddess Durga, people observe the festival across nine days by worshipping the deity. However, the festival turned out even more special for a family after they were blessed with a baby girl on the day of Vijayadashami. In a video going viral, a doctor could be seen carrying the newborn baby, dressed as ‘Maa Ambe’, in honour of her birth on the special occasion.

Wrapped in a traditional red outfit, the baby also had a tiny crown on her head, resembling Goddess Durga. As soon as the family saw the little one, they burst into smiles and even sought blessings by touching her feet. The video has caught a lot of reactions online, leaving social media users delighted. While many appreciated the doctor’s thoughtful gesture, some were worried that the baby was comfortable with such a dress-up.

“See how a baby girl is welcomed who was born on Vijayadasami… Lady Doc dresses her up as Maa Ambe… Best thing on the Internet today,” the video’s caption read. Users instantly took to the comment section with delightful reactions. One wrote, “Cutest thing I saw today!”

Another expressed concerns over the attire and wrote, “Isn’t it torture to the newborn, she is too small to have this attire and makeup. All these reels are for adults to make them feel good.”

“It’s a beautiful scene and very proud,” another comment read.

A user reshared the video and wrote, “A baby girl is welcomed who was born on vijayadasami… Lady Doctor dresses her up, as .. Maa Ambe…!! It’s Attitude and way of thinking matters.”

Details about the location are unknown.

Why Is Vijayadashami Celebrated?

Observed on the 10th day of the Navratri festival, it marks the victory of good over evil. Different states follow different cultures for the day. Some believe that Lord Rama killed Ravana on this day, thus bringing up the culture of burning Ravana effigies every year. On the other hand, it is also said that Goddess Durga fought demon Mahishasura for a total of nine nights i.e., Navratri, which culminated on the 10th day when she killed the demon on Vijayadashami.
