Say sorry: BJP tells Mulayam's brother
Party enraged with Shivpal Singh Yadav for saying that murders in Nithari were "small and routine”.

New Delhi: UP Public Works Department Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav must apologise for saying that the serial murders in Noida’s Nithari village were a "small and routine” matter.

Shivpal, brother of Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, outraged Opposition parties on Thursday when he said in Nithari that there was no need to create a hullabaloo over the murders.

BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said Shivpal’s “insensitivity” should be condemned by “all Law abiding citizens of the country as it is the shameless act of defending the heinous crime indirectly”.

“The BJP condemns the atrocious statement and demands an apology for insulting the public sentiments”.

The party condemned Mulayam, who has asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to probe the murders, for not visiting Nithari.

Charging the state police for inaction, the BJP said that the details emanating of complicity of police with the accused was the result of policies of state government, “wherein the corrupt officials are protected and honest officers are shown the doors”.

“It has become clear now that in UP, the criminals have the field day and honest citizen is under constant threat. This is unparallel anarchic situation, which should not be allowed to deteriorate further,” Javadekar said.
