Swap deal: Pak official kidnapped by Taliban released

New Delhi: A senior Pakistan government administrator and his six guards abducted by the Taliban fighters, in the troubled Swat valley, have been released.

The official was seized on Sunday and his exchange has been secured in exchange for three Taliban fighters.

The abduction has raised fears regarding the extension of ceasefire between the Taliban and the Pakistan's government, which ends this Wednesday.

The abduction had come close on the heels of the murder of a Geo News network journalist Musa Khan Khel, who was shot dead and decapitated in Swat.
