State losing its healthy political culture

KOCHI: Stating that healthy criticism among the political parties is always welcome, Union Aviation Minister Vayalar Ravi on Sunday said the recent episodes showed that the political parties and leaders are exceeding the limits. Inaugurating the condolence meeting to mourn T M Jacob, he said “we had an admirable political culture. However, the recent criticisms by leaders show that we have lost that culture.”Noting that the Opposition had always been critical of the government, Ravi said the present controversies in politics is not good for the state.  Without naming any party or leader, he said it was time that everyone introspected.” They have to think what happened to our political culture. All the leaders should have to see if this kind of politics suits the state, he said.“Jacob was an eminent parliamentarian whose contributions Kerala could not forget. The State had lost a good minister and an eminent legislator,” he remembered.
