Helmed by Rajiv S Ruia, the film featured Ahsaas Channa, Kiran Janjani and Shital Shah in the lead roles.

Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge?

The 2010 comedy-drama film revolves around an unexpected arrival of an unwanted guest. The Ganpati angle added a delightful twist to the storyline. Amidst the hilarious situations and misunderstandings, the family’s devotion to Lord Ganesha is portrayed beautifully. The film concludes on the last day of the 10-day long festival when Lord Ganesha is immersed and also adds small details of the event, such as prayers at home and kids visiting the Ganpati mandap. Directed by Ashwni Dhir, the film starred Ajay Devgn, Konkona Sen Sharma and Paresh Rawal in the lead roles.

Agneepath

The Ganpati Visarjan scene was one of the most impactful scenes of the 2012 action thriller film Agneepath featuring Hrithik Roshan, Sanjay Dutt and Priyanka Chopra. The high-energy devotional track Deva Shree Ganesha beautifully captured the essence of Ganesh Chaturthi. Directed by Karan Malhotra, the film was backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Production.

Don

Who can forget Superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s entry song Morya Morya from the 2006 action thriller film Don? King Khan played a double role in the Farhan Akhtar directorial film i.e. of Don and his look-alike Vijay. The devotional song was the entry sequence of Vijay. The film also starred Priyanka Chopra, Boman Irani and Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Another gangster drama film that captured the essence of Ganesh Chaturthi is Sanjay Dutt’s 1999 film Vaastav: The Reality. Raghu’s (played by Dutt) devotion and faith towards Lord Ganesha is the central theme of the film, as he struggles to lead a righteous life despite the violence and criminality around him. Directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, the film also starred Namrata Shirodkar, Mohnish Bahl and Reema Lagoo in pivotal roles.

Starring Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor and Prabhudeva, ABCD 2 featured an energetic Ganesh Chaturthi dance number that celebrates the event with amazing choreography and tremendous energy, making it a significant highlight of the film. It was helmed by Remo D’Souza.
