Mumbai: Ten time Grammy winner Shakira arrived at the Mumbai airport on Saturday evening.
The Latina sensation is scheduled to perform in the city on Sunday at the MMRDA grounds in the business area of Bandra Kurla complex, as part of her Oral Fixation tour.
“India is such an inspiring country, to me and to my career. It’s a great chance to sing for the Indian people for the first time,” said Shakira.
Shakira has been a major figure in the Latin American pop scene since the mid-1990s.
The Colombian singer is known for hit singles like Whenever Whereever and Hips don't lie.
The singer made her English debut with Laundry Service in 2001 which sold over 15 million copies worldwide.
Shakira is the highest-selling Colombian artist of all time, having sold almost 50 million albums worldwide.
