Hyderabad: TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday said he is getting indications that formation of separate Telangana state would very soon be a reality.
"There are ample opportunities for Telangana to be a reality in a short period, in August or September, as per the information we are getting," he said in Karimnagar district.
He was speaking at the death anniversary of former Rajya Sabha member V Rajeswara Rao.
He expressed confidence that formation of a separate Telangana state would soon be a reality.
"The day we achieve Telangana is not far. We have clear indications. The formation of separate Telangana is not far away," Rao said on Wednesday speaking at a function held in TRS office in Hyderabad.
The TRS President, however, did not elaborate on the "indications" and over the formation of separate state.
Rao had expressed confidence about formation of Telangana on earlier occasions too.
RS, formed in 2001, has been in the forefront of the statehood agitation. A massive 'sakala janula samme' (strike by all sections of people) was organised last year for over 40 days with the active participation of the sub-regional outfit.
The Centre, meanwhile, says that it is keen on taking an early decision on the contentious issue though a timeframe cannot be fixed for it.
It had earlier said it can move forward on the Telangana issue only when four political parties - Congress, TDP, YSR Congress and MIM - give their views on the matter.
