Remembering Smita Patil

Every year, the Patil family hold a small pooja at their residence in Bandra on this day, remembering Smita, the daughter they lost due to post delivery complications. Her parents, her sisters and their families, her son, Prateik attend this pooja regularly. However, this year, the pooja is going to be held on a larger scale as it is her 25th death anniversary.

It is a co-incidence that Prateik makes his debut as an actor with Dhobhi Ghat this year. As it is a well known fact, Prateik was 15 days old when he lost his mother.

Prateik confirmed that the grandparents will have an elaborate pooja today. He said, “Yes, grandma and granpa want to have a nice puja at home…In fact, the entire family will be together today.”
