The state government had decided to provide free treatment to the one-month-old motherless baby.
Jaipur: Motherless baby Damini, who had been battling for her life for two weeks, has been discharged from a Jaipur hospital. The one-month-old baby, brought in a critical and malnourished state, was admitted to the hospital after the state government decided to provide free treatment to her.
The plight of the baby first came to light after the baby's father, a rickshaw puller, was seen carrying her around his neck as he rode a rickshaw in Bharatpur, not being in a position to bear the medical expenses. Damini was admitted to the hospital from Bharatpur after her health was deteriorating.
Doctors had cited various health problems including pneumonia, respiratory problems and underweight. Initially she was even kept on the ventilator.
