Thiruvananthapuram: "Kiss of love'" volunteers have been attacked by the alleged 'moral' police while they were at marine drive propagating the programme they are organising on November 2.

Through a Facebook page it was a call to the people interested to come forward with their husbands/wives or partners to kiss or share a hug at marine drive to protest against the moral policing act at a restaurant in Kozhikode.

They were attacked by two men, stating that such programmes are a danger to the society, who destroyed their pluck cards. They tried to manhandle the volunteers and also hurled abuses at a woman who came along with her husband.

Meanwhile the police have denied permission to hold this programme on November 2 but the organisers state that they will go ahead with it. So far they have received through Facebook about 3,000 confirmations of those participating but they feel that only about 5 percent of this may turn up.
