Nagarjuna’s efforts to win Amala's heart took a significant turn when he noticed her reluctance to leave her vanity during a film shoot.

During the golden era of Indian cinema, few love stories were as celebrated as that of Nagarjuna Akkineni and Amala Mukherjee. Both renowned actors, their on-screen chemistry was electric, but it was their real-life romance that truly mesmerized fans. Their transition from co-stars to life partners is a story of love, mutual respect, and profound connection, making them one of the most cherished couples in the film industry. Before Nagarjuna met Amala, his personal life had faced its own set of challenges. Nagarjuna was married to Lakshmi Daggubati in 1984 and had a son Naga Chaitanya together. However, the marriage soon started falling apart due to differences between them. The two parted ways in 1990.

After enduring a challenging personal experience, Nagarjuna threw himself into his acting career, taking on back-to-back film shoots. During this period, he frequently worked with Amala Mukherjee, who appeared as his leading lady in several films. Nagarjuna was deeply impressed by Amala’s dedication and punctuality, which eventually led him to fall in love with her.

Interestingly, Nagarjuna’s romantic feelings were initially one-sided. However, his efforts to win Amala’s heart took a significant turn when he noticed her reluctance to leave her vanity during a film shoot. Discovering that Amala was upset and crying, Nagarjuna learned that she was uncomfortable with her costume, which she felt looked absurd. In response, Nagarjuna spoke with the director and persuaded him to change the costume for the scene. This considerate gesture from Nagarjuna touched Amala deeply, and she soon fell in love with him as well.

Then after some time, Amala and Nagarjuna went abroad for the shooting of a film. Here Nagarjuna proposed to Amala in a very filmy style. After this, the superstar divorced his first wife Lakshmi Daggubati and in 1992, Nagarjuna married Amala. Only close friends and family attended Nagarjuna and Amala’s wedding. They have a son Akhil, who is an actor like his father.
