HYDERABAD: A 10yearold boy, who alleged that he had escaped from people who had kidnapped him a few months ago and kept him along with 40 other children in the city, sent the police in a tizzy for a few hours Saturday. But the information later turned out be fake as cops could not find anything to support the boy's claim. They are, however, still looking into the issue.Manoj, a fifth class student at the government high school in Anthireddyguda village in Mahabubnagar district, claimed that he was kidnapped a few months ago and kept along with 40 other kids in a building near Alpha Hotel in Secunderabad. He said that he managed to escape the place on Saturday.As soon as the police received the information, a team led by North Zone deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Ch Srikanth inspected the spot but found no evidence to suggest children were kept in captivity."We went there and searched the locality. We did not get any clue...We are in touch with the Mahabubnagar police to get more details as the boy belongs to the district," DCP told Express.Police suspect that the boy had provided fake information. Moreover, no complaint was lodged by the parents of the boy when he allegedly went missing. The boy's father Dev Sarvan works in a private company in Mahabubnagar. Police are questioning the parents and locals in their village to get more details.
