Husband suspected of stabbing wife to death, told police she fell from terrace

A 28-year-old woman has been allegedly stabbed to death by her husband in Dungar village in Meerut, police said.

Upon receiving information of a suspicious death on Friday, police reached the scene and found the body of Kavita with knife marks on neck and chest.

The husband, Kavindra (32), told police that his wife had slipped from the terrace of their house leading to her death, they said.

However, presence of stab wounds on the victim's neck and chest naturally raised suspicion.  Kavindra has subsequently took him into custody, they added.

Police said that the victim's family members have been informed and further action would be taken only after their arrival.  The couple were married for four years and have a three-year old son, police said.
