BANGALORE: Seeking some respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday schedule, Governor H R Bhardwaj along with his wife took a ride to the Bannerghatta National Park (BNP) on Sunday. At the BNP, Bhardwaj expressed his sympathy for the male baby elephant rescued from Kanakpura Harohalli range. Adopting the baby elephant he named him as ‘Aswathamma’. Meanwhile he also planted one sapling at the BNP premises and asked the officials to improve the green cover by planting more saplings in the premises. He said, “I have been visiting BNP for the past 25 to 30 years, and among all the national parks in the country BNP is the best. But I am not satisfied with the number of plants. Officials should take measures to plant more saplings and save the environment.” Later, Bhardwaj took a ride through the grand safari (lion, tiger and deer) and the butterfly park.
