Farmers protest against power cuts

BANGALORE: Members of Karnataka Rajya Raita Sangha (KRRS) and Hasiru Sene will stage a protest on October 19, 2011 in Bangalore against power cuts of nine hours in villages.The Raita Sangha along with Hasiru Sene, together is launching a protest where members will be holding candles and lanterns from the City Railway Station to the Vidhana Soudha on October 19, 2011 and later they will proceed to KPTCL.Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, president of the Raita Sangha Kodihalli Chandrashekhar, said that the government cannot claim that there is no coal to generate power, when farmers keep stock that lasts them for two months for sugar production.
