Digha is one of the most popular tourist places in West Bengal with every year thousands of people flocking here. Now, the coastal resort town has decided to up its tourism game by introducing double-decker bus services. Now tourists will be able to enjoy the special service of these buses and take a hassle-free trip across the town without much fuss.
To double up the attraction of Digha, authorities have decided to introduce special double-decker tourist buses. As of now, the trial run of double-decker bus services has already kickstarted in Digha. The services will be launched soon to ensure smooth transport of tourists. Due to undisclosed reasons, the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) leisure tour service has not been launched yet.
Meanwhile, a jetty arrangement has been made near Nayakali Temple, right next to Shankarpur Fish Harbour. From here, tourists will be able to board the jetty and enjoy a stunning ride into the sea, with the wind and salt in the air, the sun on the horizon and the sound of the waves. Now, just the service launch is awaited. Meanwhile, the trial run has commenced on the roads.
The fully air-conditioned buses are equipped with modern sound systems and luxurious interiors, colourful decor and peppy lights have caught the attention of passers-by and piqued their curiosity. Now, under the initiative of the current state government, many other new services have been introduced in Digha, like beautification and better organisation. The fare for the double-decker bus services is yet to be determined.
As soon as the buses become operational, it will be quite convenient for tourists to travel around the town without any hassle while they remain in AC. This may generate more revenue for the authorities by attracting tourists and further boosting tourism.
