In the latest development in the Vyapam probe, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has lodged a murder case into the death of scam accused Namrata Damor, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances in 2012.
While the Madhya Pradesh Police had claimed it to be a case of suicide, her post mortem report had said that she died of asphyxiation.
The CBI has registered as many as eight cases since it took over the probe into the multi-crore scam and deaths related to it last week.
Meanwhile, a member of the backward classes commission in Madhya Pradesh, Gulab Singh Kirar, was removed from his post after he was booked by the central agency. Kirar enjoys the status of Minister of State and is a close aide of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
