THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thomas Mani, academic coordinator for Christ Nagar Group of Schools, Thiruvananthapuram, had been conferred with the title of ‘British Council School Ambassador-2010’. He is one among the seven teachers from India and the only one from Kerala to receive this title. He helps schools in Kerala to participate in the programmes conducted by the British Council. Mani has successfully enrolled six schools for this academic year to participate in the International School Award (ISA) scheme and is the single point of contact on behalf of all the participating schools. He has attended many workshops on ‘Connecting Classrooms Online’, ‘Global School Partnership’ and ‘International School Award Application Process’ and criteria of evaluation. Mani had also received an award in his capacity as ISA Coordinator for Christ Nagar Higher Secondary School for 2007-08 in a national award ceremony held in Chennai in November 2008.
