London: A beauty queen was stripped of her title in Britain after she was found to have "put her age as 22 in 2006, again in 2007, in 2008, and in 2010".
Laura Anness, who is actually 27, was about to compete in Miss England after being crowned Miss Cornwall. The competitors had to be aged between 17 and 24 and had to be living, working or studying in the county.
Anness, a teacher from Plymouth in Devon, told organisers she was 22 and lived in the Cornish town of Saltash.
Daily Express quoted organiser Becky Chapman as saying: "I didn't think she looked older than 24. But when I was cleaning my office I came across Miss Cornwall entry forms completed by Laura.
"She had put her age as 22 in 2006, again in 2007, in 2008, and in 2010. It's all rather sad."
