Vivek Oberoi Reveals Why He Chose Casual Relationships To Avoid Heartbreak: 'My Childhood Sweetheart....'
Actor Vivek Oberoi opened up about his past relationships, revealing how the loss of his childhood sweetheart to cancer made him hesitant to pursue serious commitments.

Actor Vivek Oberoi recently reflected on his past relationships, revealing that he’s had only a few serious ones in his life. He shared that the death of his childhood sweetheart to cancer made him hesitant to commit to any serious relationships afterward. Vivek emphasized that he’s always been faithful in his relationships, and when he was younger, he was upfront with romantic partners about not seeking anything long-term. Today, Vivek is married to Priyanka Alva, and fortunately, she doesn’t ask many questions about his romantic past.

In an interview with India TV, Vivek discussed his early relationships, saying, “I’ve had very few serious girlfriends. I was very clear when I was in college. I was studying, I had already started business, I was investing in the stock market. I didn’t have time. I was very clear that I wasn’t interested in a serious, committed relationship. This was also because my childhood sweetheart died of cancer.”

Vivek went on to explain his reluctance to face more heartbreak, stating, “I didn’t want to go through more heartbreak, and I decided that only casual relationships work for me. I don’t count many of those as ‘girlfriends’. But when I’ve loved, I’ve loved with all my heart. I’ve always been honest, I’ve never cheated on anyone. I’ve been transparent and true.”

In a previous interview with Anas Bukhash on YouTube, Vivek had mentioned that several of his exes attended his wedding, adding, “I stayed friends with a lot of my casual girlfriends and a lot of them even came to my wedding.”

He also opened up about a difficult past relationship that made him cautious about love. “I didn’t want to get married, I was partying away. I was like, ‘No serious relationships. It’s too much stress, too much complications.’ I had my fatherly emotion satisfied with my nieces and nephews. So, I was like, ‘Why to get married?’” His mother, however, convinced him to meet Priyanka Alva, and he eventually tied the knot with her in 2010. They now have two children together.

On the work front,

Vivek Oberoi was last seen in the series Indian Police Force, a Rohit Shetty directorial, which streamed on Amazon Prime Video. The show also starred Sidharth Malhotra and Shilpa Shetty.
