Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah needs no introduction. The show has been one of the longest-running shows in the television industry, and it continues to entertain viewers of all walks of life with its interesting storyline. It has featured many actors over the years, and among them is Jheel Mehta, who is one of the well-known artists and has gained much prominence in the television industry. The TMKOC fame, popularly known for her stint as Sonu Bhide in the popular sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has recently been hogging headlines as she embarked on a new chapter in her life and got engaged with her longtime partner.
Jheel recalled how much she used to get paid per day and her bonding with her co-actors of the show. In a recent interview with a media portal, she also revealed the names of the highest and second-highest paid artists on the sitcom.
Speaking with ETimes, Jheel Mehta revealed about her per-day amount and the highest-paid actor of the show. Spilling the beans, she stated, “I am not sure if this is true; I can only remember that when I used to earn Rs 1200, he (Dilip Joshi) would be earning 15x of what I did. Dilip sir would be getting paid more than what has been assumed.”
Elaborating further, the actress said that whatever pay cheque he receives is totally worth it as he holds the show and his craft is par excellence. Jheel also revealed the names of the other two highest-paid actors of TMKOC. She disclosed that either Disha Vakani, who essayed the role of Daya, or Shailesh Lodha, who played the role of Taarak Mehta, were the second highest-paid actors.
Moreover, Jheel spoke about her bonding with Jethalal Champaklal Gada (played by Dilip Joshi). She expressed that despite him being very nice, there was always the seniority factor, due to which she couldn’t connect with him as much as she did with other co-actors. She added, “Being a kid, and then there is someone already so accomplished in front of you, so you hesitate to speak to them.”
Jheel Mehta played the role of Sonalika Bhide, aka Sonu, in the popular sitcom. She was in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah from 2008 and 2012. Following her exit from the show, Nidhi Bhanushali stepped in to essay her character. After her stint, Jheel intentionally decided to stay away from the showbiz industry. Currently, Jheel is preparing to get married to her longtime beau Aditya Dube.
