BANGALORE: Unknown miscreants murdered an eight-year-old boy and made away with a gold chain and a cash of Rs 3,000. The incident took place at Mahadeshwaranagar in Byadarahalli police out post in Tavarekere police station limits on the outskirts of the city on Wednesday evening.
The victim Chethan, was a second standard student of St Philomena's School near his house. According to police, the boy had gone to school and returned home at around 4 pm. His mother was at work while his father was out of station. Unknown miscreants entered the house and strangulated Chethan with a rope and murdered him. Later, they broke open the almirah and made away with a gold chain and a cash of Rs 3,000. The incident came to light when his mother returned after some time, the police said.Ramanagaram Superintendent of Police S P Bisanahalli inspected the spot and said that it was suspected that some known persons might have got entry into the house and committed the crime.
