A disability is a mental or physical condition that restricts a person’s activities, senses, or movements. The modern society has recognised the problems faced by such individuals, and they try to ease their interaction with the world outside. Even though there are a lot of efforts put in by the government and local bodies regarding the inclusion of the disabled, there are still certain places where they are looked down upon and not treated with special care. As much as it is important to support them emotionally and physically, it is also quite essential to indulge them in cultural activities and give them the opportunity to showcase their talent. Considering this, an event was organised for differently-abled people in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu.
According to reports, a programme was organised by Thanjavur Manasa Academy for the differently-abled. This was mainly done to give them a platform to showcase their talents and present themselves in front of the crowd. The event also included a ramp walk, a magic show by a famous magician Vignesh Prabhu, and various art performances by the students. As per reports, the show was inaugurated by 90s kids’ favourite film actress Kausalya. She started the proceedings by igniting the candles. Tanjore Municipal Corporation Mayor Ramanathan, choreographer Johnny Master, popular television director John Thanraj, Bharat Education Group Secretary Punitha Ganesan, and many others also participated in this programme.
Vignesh Prabhu, a famous magician, has been showing his magic tricks in many countries. He was also seen attending the event and impressing the audience with his magic tricks. Many people, including the celebrities who came, were amazed. At the end, actress Kausalya presented awards to more than 100 artists, including Vignesh Prabhu and artists who performed on the ramp walk.
