Heavy rainfall on Wednesday not only disrupted Delhi but also severely impacted Jaipur. Social media is abuzz with videos showing submerged roads, flooded homes and vehicles struggling to navigate waterlogged streets. A particularly striking video has captured widespread attention, showcasing roads leading to Jaipur International Airport and the surrounding areas inundated with floodwater, making it difficult for people to reach the airport in time.
The viral video, posted on X (formerly Twitter), shows severe flooding at the entrance gates of Jaipur International Airport. The extent of the waterlogging is evident as the water level reaches the terminal barricades. In the video, an autorickshaw is seen struggling to navigate the deep water, with its wheels fully submerged.
The user accompanied the video with a sarcastic caption, “Thank you Adani Group, Jeet Adani, Gautam Adani for the free open swimming pool facility at Jaipur International Airport -took just 2 hours of rain to fill this! Gratitude to the Airport Authority of India to privatise our airport for such facilities! This is exactly what we pay taxes for! #Jaipur #Rain.”

However, the official handle of Jaipur International Airport responded to the post, clarifying that the waterlogging in the surrounding areas was only temporary. The handle, sharing a photo of the airport that showed the area cleared of waterlogging, stated, “Dear Mr Kheterpal, thank you for reaching out. We want to inform you that waterlogging was for a very brief period due to water in surrounding areas. Proactive measures were taken, and situation was back to normal in a minimum time. The attached image is for reference. Team JAI.”
