Desi women have a penchant for Panipuri stalls that surpasses even their visits to vegetable vendors, and it’s an undeniable truth! Step into any Panipuri joint, and you’ll seldom find a woman not savouring the beloved snack. It’s almost as if they hold those Panipuri vendors in higher regard than anyone else in the world! And this affection reached new heights when certain women spotted a marriage broker in one of these Panipuri vendors! Don’t believe us? Well, a rib-tickling thread on ‘X’ will dispel any doubts.
A woman, known by the username @prakritea17, shared this uproarious incident in a thread that’s spreading like wildfire for all the comical reasons. “My contribution to India is not for beginners: I go to my pani puri bhaiya and there are a few women there having an intense conversation with him. As they leave, he starts ranting to me and you will not believe this…” She then proceeds to narrate how these women requested the vendor to scout potential grooms among his customers for one of their daughters. And to everyone’s surprise, the vendor took it seriously!

In her own words, “Apparently they’re stubborn about it so he tried chatting up one of his regular customers and found out he’s a Software Engineer and earns 1.2L per month. Bhaiya asked him if he’s open to marriage proposals and he said yes…” However, things took an unexpected turn when it was revealed that this engineer was a Muslim. Consequently, “Now, they’ve asked bhaiya to first check if the guy is a Hindu. How? Apparently they’ve suggested to check the name when they make UPI payments. Are you understanding the length they’re willing to go to?” LOL!

But this ordeal left the bhaiya so flustered that he was now miffed with those ladies for pressuring him to inquire about marriage prospects and then rejecting the ones he brings. “And he went on to say, ‘Agar kal bhi aakar puchne lag gaye toh main puch lunga pani puri wala kyu nahi chalega’ (If they start pestering me again tomorrow, I’ll ask them why isn’t a Panipuri vendor okay for them).” Well, that’s quite a response!

As a result, the story garnered such widespread attention that people couldn’t resist chiming in with their thoughts. “You can suggest the panipuri guy to charge 2k for finding grooms and 20k if the suggested groom actually becomes the husband,” one person humorously suggested. “Well, thanks for the idea. Was trying to find a way to ask out a girl who repeatedly visits thela,” quipped another.
“Never in my life would I have ever imagined that the aunties would find a marriage broker in the form of the Pani Puri Wale bhaiya. The aunties are on another level,” remarked the third.
