New Delhi: The government is set to tell the Supreme Court that it is ready to bring in amendments to Delhi Police Establishments Act that will ensure more independence to the CBI, sources said on Saturday.
Sources told CNN IBN that the government is also set to tell the apex court that it will not interfere in CBI investigations.
Under fire for interfering in the probe into coal block allocations, the government is supposed to tell the Supreme Court by Monday of the steps it's taking to ensure the CBI's autonomy. The appointment of CBI Director is already under Lokpal Bill.
