Hyderabad: Former Member of Parliament P Guttha Sukhender Reddy on Saturday resigned from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) as he was miffed at denial of a ticket to contest the Nalgonda Lok Sabha seat, which he represented in 1999.
The Congress has reportedly offered Reddy the Nalgonda seat following which he quit the TDP.
Reddy, however, said that he had not yet taken a decision on joining any other party.
He alleged that the TDP leadership denied him the Nalgonda ticket in the name of accommodating the Left allies.
The TDP, however, said there was no loss to the party even if Reddy had quit.
Former Minister M Narasimhulu said that Reddy had been trying to leave the party since a long time. Now, his decision to quit the party did not come as surprise, he added.
