Senior CPI-M leader said the party will support “any other party which can defeat BJP" in the UP Assembly polls.
New Delhi: As Uttar Pradesh elections close in, political parties have started declaring their seat-sharing equations.
On Tuesday, the CPI-M declared that the party will contest 14 seats in UP Assembly and will support “any other party which can defeat BJP”.
According to senior CPI-M leader and former MP Subhasini, the CPI-M would go it alone in 14 seats including in Kanpur and nearby districts of Firozabad, Tundla and\ Etah.
"Apart from these seats, the party would support secular political parties who could defeat communal party like BJP in the elections," she was quoted by news agencu UNI as saying.
She said that senior leaders of the party including Prakash Karat will soon launch the CPI-M poll campaign.
