New Delhi: After targeting the Centre and Delhi Police, the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi has now attacked the media. While Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said the media is projecting AAP in a bad light, his minister Somnath Bharti alleged the media of taking money by their political rivals to defame him.

Already under fire for his midnight raid at Khirki extension and numerour controversial statements, Law Minister Somnath Bharti made the headlines once again by saying that the media is being paid by BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi to defame him. When a reporter asked, "There's a demand you be sacked, will you resign on moral grounds?", Somnath retorted, "How much money have you been paid by Modiji?"

Hours after making the comment, Bharti withdrew his statement and apologised to the media. He said, "I didn't mean it, if anyone is hurt by my statement then I apologise. I withdraw my statement."

Bharti added, "Media chases me everywhere. It causes inconvenience. Media friends should report the good things too that I do."

The AAP also distanced itself from the statement and asked Bharti to explain it.

While addressing the Republic Day parade in Chhatrasal stadium on Saturday, Kejriwal hit out at the media for portraying AAP negatively. He said, "Some media houses were intentionally trying to create hurdles by portraying the AAP negatively." He, however, did not name the media houses.

"We are trying to save the country from corruption and if the media projects the AAP in a negative light, who will save the country?" he asked.]

After Centre, Delhi Police and the media, it remains to be seen who will be the next target of the AAP.

What's your reaction?
