What Politics Couldn't Do, Cricket Did: Ind-Aus World Cup Match Unites BJP, Congress
After the BJP took to X (formally Twitter) to wish good luck to Team India, the Congress chimed in and echoed their arch-rival's sentiments

As Team India plays against Australia in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 to rewrite the history of their epic 2003 showdown, political arch-rivals Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Indian National Congress have come together to support the ‘Men in Blue’ in their pursuit of lifting their third World Cup trophy.

Indians all over the world have their eyes set on the match at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad today as Rohit Sharma and his team are facing five-time champions Australia in the ICC World Cup 2023 final.

After the BJP took to X (formally Twitter) to wish good luck to Team India, the Congress chimed in and echoed their arch-rival’s sentiments.

“Come on Team India! We believe in you!” the official handle of BJP posted on X.

Replying to the post in a true spirit of sportsmanship, Congress wrote, “True that! JEETEGA INDIA .”

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi extended their best wishes to Team India ahead of the match.

Team India is looking to add a third trophy to their cabinet after 1983 and 2011, while Australia is playing to extend their dominance at the showpiece ODI tournament.  So far, India has been the dominant force in the home campaign.
