'Stop Such Behaviour': Harbhajan Singh Reacts Strongly to Trolls Targeting Australia Players & Their Families
Harbhajan Singh, a two-time World Cup champion, has now reacted to the matter and requested the fans not to troll the Aussies and their families.

Former India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has come down harshly on social media trolls who targeted the Australian cricketers and their families after the World Cup 2023 final in Ahmedabad. The Aussies won the record sixth title after defeating India by 6 wickets on Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

The men in blue had made it to the grand finale after winning 10 games on the trot but their campaign got derailed in the big final against the mighty Aussies. The Australians were lauded for outsmarting Team India in the final. But some made crass comments on the social media posts of Australian players and their family members, including rape and death threats.

Harbhajan Singh, a two-time World Cup champion, has now reacted to the matter and requested the fans not to troll the Aussies and their families.

“Reports of trolling of family members of Australian cricket players is completely in bad taste. We played well but lost the final to better cricket by the Aussies. That’s it. Why troll the players and their families? Requesting all cricket fans to stop such behaviour. Sanity and dignity are more important,” he said on X.

Earlier, Harbhajan had praised the Indian cricketers for their great performance throughout the tournament.

“Tough one for us Indians to swallow this setback.. we are proud of our boys in blue .. we love you Team india,” Harbhajan had posted.

Meanwhile, Glenn Maxwell’s wife Vini Raman had to go through online trolling after Australia defeated India on Sunday. A day later, she took to her Instagram account and answered the haters stating that they should direct their outrage towards ‘more important world issues’.

“Cue all the hateful vile DMs. Stay classy.”

“Can’t believe this needs to be said BUT you can be Indian and also support the country of your birth where you have been raised and more importantly the team your husband + father of your plays in #nobrainer.

“Take a chill pill and direct the outrage towards more important world issues,” said Raman on Instagram.

After the World Cup, the two teams will lock horns in a 5-match T20I series starting November 23 in Vizag.
