Despite a global economic slowdown, IIT Bombay is expecting a good placement season. The institute is expecting crore-plus job offers for its students. While there has been a drop in the number of companies visiting IITs this year, it is quite minimal, and students are hoping for a good placement season, reported Times of India.
This year, several organisations are likely to make crore-plus offers to the students. This includes Da Vinci Derivatives, Hudson River Trading, Glean Technologies, Barclays, and Jane Street Capital. Microsoft and Apple will be visiting the IIT Bombay campus for domestic roles.
Da Vinci Derivatives is expected to be making an offer of Rs 1.3 crore for a domestic profile, Hudson River Trading will be offering 200,000 Singapore Dollars or Rs 1.24 crore, Glean is likely to offer a package of $1,25,000 for an international profile, Hudson River Trading, which will be visiting the IIT for the first time will be offering a Singapore role at the institute, the report added.

Companies such as Jane Street Capital, which offered the highest-ever package of Rs 3.7 crore at some of the IITs last year, will be making a pre-placement offer at IIT-B this year. As per students, the organisation usually hires students through internships. Barclays is likely to make an offer of 11 lakh Hong Kong dollars for an international profile.
Newer companies such as Graviton Research Capital, Quadeye, and NK Securities will also be participating, the report added. A few companies that only exclusively visit the IIT-B campus are expected to come this year too. The selection of candidates will be based on placement interviews that are slated to begin on December 1.
Last year, 384 companies participated in the placement process at IIT Bombay with 1,516 students placed through the campus placement cell. The highest domestic salary offered was Rs 1.7 crore, and the highest international offer was Rs 3.7 crore. Around 16 crore-plus offers and 65 international offers were accepted by the students last year. The average salary was Rs 21.8 lakh.
