Rituraj Singh passed away on Tuesday, February 20 at the age of 59. He died after suffering a cardiac arrest.

Hours after actor Rituraj Singh passed away, Varun Dhawan took to his Instagram stories to pay tribute to his Badrinath Ki Dulhania co-star. Singh played Varun Dhawan’s father in the movie which also starred Alia Bhatt in the lead.

Varun shared a throwback photo from the sets of Badrinath Ki Dulhania and recalled the “wonderful time” he spent with Singh. “#rip Rituraj sir had such a wonderful time working with him and had just met him a few months back on the sets of Baby John. Om Shanti!” he wrote.

Actor Rituraj Singh passed away on Tuesday, February 20. As reported by ETimes, the actor was suffering from some pancreatic disease and was hospitalised recently after he faced a cardiac arrest. However, he passed away on Tuesday at the age of 59.

Rituraj’s close friend Amit Bhel confirmed the news of his death and told the entertainment portal, “Yes he passed away due to cardiac arrest. He was admitted to a hospital some time back for treatment of pancreas returned home had some cardiac complications and passed away.” However, details about Rituraj’s final rites are not known as of now.

Earlier today, filmmaker Hansal Mehta took to the microblogging site X, formerly known as Twitter, to pay tribute to the actor. “Rituraj!!!! Can’t believe this! I directed him briefly in a daily soap called K Street Pali Hill but in the process, we became good friends. Been a while since we hung out but I have such fond memories. Untapped actor and a warm human. Gone suddenly and too early,” he wrote.

Rituraj Singh is known for shows like Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Kutumb, Abhay 3 and Never Kiss Your Best Friend among others. He was also seen in Rupali Ganguly’s superhit show, Anupamaa. Rituraj also worked in films like Satyamev Jayate 2 and Badrinath Ki Dulhania.
