Kannada filmmaker V Ravichandran has established a massive fan base with his directorial prowess in films like Premaloka, Ranadheera etc. Premaloka remains one of Ravichandran’s successful films and his fans are eagerly waiting for its sequel. He had also revealed plans to commence shooting for the sequel on his birthday on May 30. However, now there has been a change in the plans and the 63-year-old director talked about it in front of the media. Ravichandran claimed that the trailer of the sequel was ready and they were going to release it on his birth date. Now, they have postponed the release for ten more days, as his birthday celebrations and the trailer release ceremony should not coincide. The Premaloka director said that he prioritised his birthday first and would unveil the trailer of the film’s sequel on a large scale after 10 days.
Ravichandran said that he and his team would share all the details related to Premaloka’s second instalment after 10 days. The 63-year-old director also amped up the anticipation around the sequel saying that there will be additional surprise for the viewers as well.
Ravichandran, apart from directing, will also headline the project along with his sons, Manoranjan and Vikram. He will score music for the film as well. As a recall to the yesteryear trend, Premaloka’s sequel is said to feature a whopping 25 songs, with recordings nearing completion. As viewers eagerly look forward to this cinematic delight, it’s worth reminiscing about the magic of the original Premaloka.
Premaloka marked Ravichandran’s directorial debut. N Veeraswamy and Ravichandran produced this project under Sri Eswari Productions. This film starred the maestro himself alongside Bollywood sensation Juhi Chawla. Released in Kannada and Tamil, its timeless songs composed by musician Hamsalekha continue to enthral audiences to this day.
As of now, there is no update regarding the star cast of Premaloka’s sequel. Meanwhile, as per the reports, the female lead is taking centre stage. Though there is no official announcement from the team yet, reports suggest that Teju Ashwini could be the face of Premaloka 2.
