Former Bigg Boss contestant Sofia Hayat has come down heavily on Bigg Boss OTT host Karan Johar for promoting nepotism and violence on the show. Calling Karan Johar “worse than” Bigg Boss host Salman Khan, she has alleged that the filmmaker is insulting contestants for TRPs.
Following the Sunday Ka Vaar episode, Karan Johar has been receiving flak online. Many Bigg Boss viewers have called him biased towards Shilpa Shetty’s sister, actor Shamita Shetty. Karan had also slammed now-evicted contestant Zeeshan Khan over his comment, “Ladki ho toh daayre mein raho (You are a girl, stay in your limits).”
Speaking to Times of India, Sofia Hayat said, “Karan is worse than Salman Khan! They are promoting violence and nepotism… if this show was on in the UK, they would take it off-air immediately because it incites violent behaviour and aggression. Karan is playing up to the old ways of insulting people to get high TRPs. It’s an old formula of Bigg Boss… they are promoting violence, nepotism, swearing, and disrespect of humanity. They are laughing at people’s misfortune.”
Earlier, Sofia slammed Salman’s last released ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’ and made revelations about not sharing the Bigg Boss stage with the actor during season 7.

The 36-year-old also condemned the Bollywood superstar for always casting a younger actress in his movies. Posing a question to the actor, Sofia even said, “Isn’t it about time you cast a girl your own age to star opposite you?”
