Salman Khan’s ex-girlfriend Somy Ali has made a fresh claim about the actor amid the death threats he’s receiving from Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. Somy claimed that she discussed the blackbuck killing case with Salman when it happened and also shared insights into the alleged conversation. Somy claimed that Salman did not know the significance of the blackbuck to the Bishnoi community. She also said that she was supposed to go with Salman on the day on the hunting but he stopped her because he felt she chases away the prey.
“Why should he apologise for something he didn’t know about? That’s like doing something inadvertently, unintentionally and being forced to apologise for it. It makes no sense. It’s not about ego. People say that he (Salman) is very arrogant and he has a reputation. I have nothing to do with him or his family today. I just don’t want anyone murdered, in Bollywood or Hollywood. Violence is never the answer,” she told India Today.
Sharing the alleged details of her chat with Salman about the hunt and everything that transpired after that, Somy said, “The Bishnoi community needs to understand that Salman didn’t know. He told me that he had no idea. It’s absurd.”
“I can assure you that Salman didn’t know the Bishnoi community worships blackbucks. I have been hunting with Salman many times during outdoor shooting. During the 1998 shooting, he didn’t take me because he said ‘you prey out loud on purpose and animals start running away’. I don’t like hunting as a sport. One time I didn’t go, he ended up catching the animal,” she recalled.
Somy added that she still wishes to talk to Lawrence Bishnoi some day to understand his mindset. She added that she will be in India in November and will try to find a way to interview him.
While Somy is concerned for her ex-boyfriend and his family, she reinitiated that she has nothing to do with the superstar. “I am anti-death penalty and anti-murder. I am as concerned about Salman as I am about a man walking down the street or my neighbour. I do not want to have a conversation, do not have feelings for Salman. I do not care about him, I don’t want to reunite with him. I don’t want any publicity from him. I don’t want his money. I have my own money. The last time I spoke to Salman was in 2012. I haven’t spoken to him in years. The only thing I want is not for anyone to be murdered,” she said.
Her statements have come just a couple of days after Salman received a fresh round of death threat. On Friday, two new threatening messages were received on the WhatsApp number of Mumbai Traffic Police, in which Rs 5 crore was demanded from actor Salman Khan. The messages warned that if Salman failed to pay, his fate would be worse than that of NCP leader Baba Siddique, who was recently murdered.
Salman, who has been tackling death threats for a while now, already had tight security in place. However, following the new death threats, Salman’s security has been amped up.
