Why Darshan Thoogudeepa May Have Fewer Visitors In Bellary Central Jail

Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, an accused in the Renukaswamy murder case, has been shifted from the Bengaluru Central Prison to Bellary Central Jail. Now, due to this transfer, it was speculated how Darshan’s well-wishers from industry and wife Vijayalakshmi Darshan would be able to meet him. These well-wishers include the celebrities Chikkanna, Abhishek Ambareesh, Rachita Ram, and Sadhu Kokila. Reportedly, rules for the visits of the people to the accused are the same in the Bengaluru Central Prison and Bellary Central Jail. This implies that Darshan’s well-wishers will face no problems in meeting him in the jail. The number of visits for Darshan is likely to be reduced, as Bellary Central Jail is quite far away. According to the reports, it requires 11 hours from the city to reach this prison.

This has also increased the troubles for Darshan’s wife, Vijayalakshmi Darshan. As per the reports, she used to visit the Bengaluru Central Prison twice a week to meet Darshan with her son Vineesh Thoogudeep. Now, according to the reports, she will have to spend 11 hours to reach the Bellary Central Jail.

What caused Darshan’s transfer?

Recently, a photo of Darshan went viral on social media in which he was seen hanging out with three others, including a rowdy sheeter, on the lawns of Parappana Agrahara Central Jail in Karnataka. Those captured with Darshan in the photo are rowdy sheeter: Wilson Garden Naga, and other inmates Nagaraj (the actor’s manager and co-accused) and Kulla Seena, a convict in a murder case. This picture sparked a massive row over the reported special treatment being given to the 47-year-old actor. In the photo, Darshan was seen sitting on a chair, holding a cigarette and a coffee mug. Besides this, a purported video of Darshan speaking to a person over a video call from the prison too had surfaced on social media.

What is the Renukaswamy murder case?

Darshan has been in judicial custody for a long time for the Renukaswamy murder case. Renukaswamy, a Darshan follower, was abducted from Chitradurga on June 8, 2024. He was brutally tortured to death allegedly by the old actor and his aides for posting vulgar comments on the key accused of the case, Pavithra Gowda, as per reports. It is rumoured that Darshan has an affair with actress Pavithra Gowda.
