Debutant director Neeraj Ghaywan's film 'Masaan' has been in the news for some time now. After impressing the international audience at the Cannes Film Festival and winning three prestigious awards, the film is now releasing in India and has already been appreciated by those who have watched it.
Set in Benaras, the film has two parallel stories, one of a college girl trying to break the stereotypes that exist in a small town and the other of a young couple who are bonded by love but are aware of the cast divide that exists between them.
The story has been co written by Ghaywan and Varun Grover and shot entirely in Varanasi. The film features Richa Chadha, Sanjai Mishra and debutants Shweta Tripathi and Vicky Kaushal.
