Kangana Ranaut attended the News18 India Chaupal event on Monday in New Delhi when she lashed out at actors endorsing tobacco and accused them of ruining the country. Kangana questioned the Bollywood actors for their acts and alleged that they are always the first when it comes to backstabbing their own nation.
“Bollywood has ruined our nation. They should take onus for it. These actors show off their net worth but then endorse tobacco. What was their compulsion that they ended up chewing on the screen? These people stand together when it comes to anti-national agenda. They backstab our nation in return for money. They charge Rs 10 lakh, Rs 5 lakh or so for posting (Instagram) stories or on Twitter,” Kangana said.
Kangana further questioned Bollywood filmmakers for presenting villains as heroes in their movies and added, “The kind of films they are making, nayak has become the khalnayak now. Their heroes are goons, they chase and tease women, and rape them. They do not stand for their culture. Such are their heroes.”
When asked about calling Ranbir Kapoor a ‘serial skirt chaser’, Kangana interrupted the host and said, “You are arguing for them as if they are some saints.”
Kangana even talked about the controversy surrounding her upcoming movie Emergency and argued that only some people have an objection to her movie. She questioned those defending Bhindranwale and made a strong statement saying he was not a saint but a terrorist.
“It is our history which has been intentionally hidden. We are not told about this. Bhale logo ka zamaana nahi hai,” Kangana said and then added, “My film is ready to be released. It has received certification from the censor board. 4 historians supervised our films. We have the proper documents. There is nothing wrong with my film. But some people call Bhindranwale a saint, revolutionary or a leader. They threatened via pleas (to ban her film). I have also received threats. Previous governments have declared Khalistanis as terrorists. He was not a saint who was sitting in a temple with an AK47,” she said.
