Telugu cinema has not seen much success in the first half of the year. There are lots of expectations from the second half, which will see a couple of pan-India releases as well. The second half of the year will be kickstarted by Kalki 2898 AD, which is slated to release within two weeks, followed by other massive films like Devara and Pushpa 2: The Rule. Devara, which is directed by Koratala Siva, will be Jr NTR’s first film since he became not just a pan-India star, but a global star with 2022’s RRR. Hence all eyes are on Devara.
The film was originally supposed to release in April this year, but suffered a halt in production after Saif Ali Khan, who plays the main antagonist, incurred an injury. Devara was pushed back to October 10, disappointing fans of Junior NTR. It looks like there is a bit of good news for fans. While films get continuously postponed for various reasons, the makers of Devara have reportedly preponed the film. Devara Part 1 is reportedly now set for release on September 27.
The September 27 date was earlier booked for the release of Pawan Kalyan’s mega film OG; but since OG has now been postponed to next year, Devara has rushed to fill in the void left by OG. Along with Saif Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor is also making her Telugu debut with Devara. The film also features seasoned actors like Prakash Raj, Srikanth Meka, Shine Tom Chacko, Murali Sharma, Narain, Kalaiyarasan, Chaithra Rai, and Abhimanyu Singh, among others playing important characters. Jr NTR reportedly plays a saviour of 10 villages along the sea coast in this film.
Jr NTR is also preparing for his Bollywood debut, appearing in War 2 alongside Hrithik Roshan.
