'Enjoying Like A Fan': Kamal Haasan On Watching Kalki 2898 AD
The Prabhas-starrer has created history by becoming one of the biggest openers of Indian cinema.

Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan, is ruling the box office. Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan, who plays the role of Supreme Yaskin, shared his views after watching the film, which is currently garnering everyone’s attention.

Kamal Haasan recently attended the special screening of the film Kalki in a theatre in Chennai. He has screen time in the film for a few minutes. After watching the film, the actor said, “They informed me that my work is only in the second part of the film. I am enjoying the film with you as a fan. Indian cinema is making noise at the global level.”

He also added that Kalki is made beautifully with a mythological background, science fiction mythology. Director Nagashwin created and directed this story with great patience. He directed this film to such an extent that he did not know whether to include me in the list of young actors or the list of former actors.

Earlier in a promotional interview for Kalki 2898AD, Kamal Haasan explained that it took a year to come on board.

Producer Swapna Dutt also stated that it was one of the most challenging castings. She also mentioned that they went behind Kamal Haasan to convince him to join the team.

Swapna Dutt said, “One of the most difficult castings ever was Kamal, sir.”

Kamal Haasan then talked about his thoughts on the role. He said, “It’s not a question of torture. Self-doubt comes, you know. Sharing the screen with big actors Amitabh and Prabhas What am I going to do? That was the reason. And it’s not that I’ve played bad guys before. Even as a lead bad guy, psychopaths, and all that. But this is something else.”

Meanwhile, as per the latest reports, Kalki 2898AD has become one of the highest openers in Indian cinema, grossing over Rs 92 crore on its opening day.

As per the industry tracker, Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin, earned around Rs 92 crore net in India on its first day for all languages, while its gross collection is estimated at around Rs 115 crore. The film grossed over Rs 180 crore worldwide on Day 1.
