Ed Sheeran was in India last month for the last leg of his Asia tour. Ahead of his performance in Mumbai on March 16, the singer spent some quality time with several Bollywood celebrities, cricketers, and other renowned names from different sectors. The singer has now shared a glimpse of his India trip through a video on his YouTube channel. In the footage, Sheeran can be seen indulging in some fun-filled moments with comedian Tanmay Bhat, as well as cricketer Shubman Gill.
During the conversation with Tanmay and Shubman, the singer revealed that he was excited to meet Shah Rukh Khan later that day. As Sheeran sampled Indian delicacies, he casually mentioned, “I am going to see Shah Rukh Khan tonight for dinner.” Upon hearing this, Tanmay looked amazed and inquired if the singer-songwriter was friends with the Bollywood actor.
The Perfect Singer, then, went on to share that he had earlier met Shah Rukh once while also admitting that he watched quite a few of his films. Sheeran said, “When I am travelling a lot, there’s always a Bollywood section on flights. So yeah, I’ve seen quite a few.” Meanwhile, Shubman, who played for the Jawan actor’s IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders, humorously requested the International singer to inquire from Shah Rukh why he was not retained.
Earlier, Sheeran had posted a video of himself with Shah Rukh on Instagram. The video featured the duo recreating the Pathaan actor’s signature pose. Accompanying the picture, the singer wrote, “This is the Shape of Us. Spreading love together….”
While on his visit to India, Ed Sheeran also sat down for a chat with India Today where he expressed his profound love for India, calling it a vibrant country. Speaking about what he admires about the country, the singer said, “I really feel the love here, in India. Sometimes you can play in places and people can be very subdued. Like, even if they are feeling the vibe inside them, you can never read how people feel. I have played in certain countries where people have a subdued reaction, but here, in India, it’s a vibrant country. People are so excited! I have the same personality, so I like that.”
Ed Sheeran was in India to perform for the final leg of his +-=/x Tour (Mathematics) at Mahalaxmi Racecourse in Mumbai on March 16. The concert also saw Diljit Dosanjh joining him for his performance.
