Codename: Revolution.
Real Name: Wii (pronouced like We)
Gaming sites have been raving and ranting about Wii, or revolution as it was called till a few days ago.
Here's what you can expect: a lot of changes. Let's start with the controller. Here's a picture:

It looks likes a tv remote control. But don't let that fool you. It has inbuilt motion sensors that figure out how you're moving your controller. Imagine this: you're playing a star wars game. And controlling the light sabre by actually moving the controller around. And the big bosses at Nintendo are telling us everything, yet.
The game development community is divided over whether this console is going to work or not. Those who think it will are creating games that take advantage of things like the revolutionary controller ... those who don't are sitting on the fence ...
The other thing we know for a fact is that it's going to cost a lot less than both the PS3 and the XBOX 360 -- the 360 retails for a little over Rs 18,000 for its base version ... and Microsoft loses money on every Xbox sold. The PS3 is going to cost atleast as much .. if not more. The Wii is going to cost around Rs 10,000 ... wheee!

Remember Mario. Or Super Contra. Long before I played with an XBox 360, I was renting the original Nintendo 8 bit system from the local pirated video rental store. For everybody not born in the nineties, these stores were all over the place. And yes, you actually had to go to a store to rent a pirated vhs cassette .. there was no internet in those days. My younger brother and me would spend anywhere between six and twelve hours playing continuously. After years of living in a world dominated by Johnnies-come-lately Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo is getting ready to release a new console which might upset the apple cart.
