"Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today reviewed the preparedness in the coastal districts of the state in preview of Cyclone Hudhud hitting neighbouring Odisha and Andhra Pradesh," a top official in the CMO said.

Kolkata: A 24-hour control room has been opened at the state secretariat as West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday reviewed the preparedness in view of Cyclone Hudhud that will hit Odisha and Andhra Pradesh coastal areas on Sunday.

"Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today reviewed the preparedness in the coastal districts of the state in preview of Cyclone Hudhud hitting neighbouring Odisha and Andhra Pradesh," a top official in the CMO said.

Chief Secretary Sanjoy Mitra, other top administrative officials including top police officers and state Disaster Management Department officials were present in the review meeting held at Nabanna, the state secretariat, on Saturday, he said.

"A 24-hour control room has been opened at Nabanna to monitor the situation in the coastal areas. The DMs in these districts have been alerted. Huge number of relief items have been kept ready at emergency camps set up in these districts. Units of the Disaster Management Department have been readied to deal with any kind of emergency-like situation arising due to Cyclone Hudhud," he said.
