Mumbai: Designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee, who has styled Vidya Balan on various occasions, says the Bollywood actress gives him full freedom as far as styling is concerned.
"She is a friend... her choice of films and my clothes are not related. The choice of our careers are not influenced by each other. She gives me full freedom to do whatever I want for her," Mukherjee told PTI in an interview here.
Mukherjee is the grand finale designer for Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2013. Mukherjee's new collection is called the Lakme Absolute Royal and will pay tribute to the regal era of queens on the runway on August 27.
"It's (collection) about modern princess who has strong cosmopolitan identity but also believes in tradition and culture. It is about a young modern day princes who has a royal palace but lives in an apartment," he said.
"I am glad that I have to present my collection for the grand finale. I am looking forward to it," he added. Ask him if the collection is made keeping in mind Lakme brand ambassador Kareena Kapoor Khan, the designer says, not really.
"It is not about Kareena. It is about a modern day girl," he said adding that he did not believe in the policy of having a show stopper.
"We have a no show stopper policy. I would like my models to display my collection. I feel they reflect my collection aptly. I am not against having a show stopper but we have no show stopper policy," he said adding that Vidya might come to see the show.
The collection will be a blend of Indo-western for men and women both, though it is predominantly for women. It will have sari, lehenga, high waist skirts, blazer, sherwani. The colour palate will consist of ivory, red, beige, black.
