HYDERABAD: As announced earlier, infrastructure and investment minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy on Saturday resigned from his ministership and also membership of the Assembly in demonstration of his commitment to the Telangana cause.His follower and Nakrekal Congress MLA Tirumarthi Lingaiah too put in his papers from the membership of the Assembly.Komatireddy Venkata Reddy drove to Raj Bhavan in a huge procession and submitted his resignation letter to governor ESL Narasimhan. Later, he went to the Assembly and tendered his resignation to the Assembly secretary. Along with him, Tirumarthi Lingaiah too submitted his resignation letter. Reddy and Lingaiah hail from the same village - Brahmana Vellemla - in Nakrekal mandal in Nalgonda district.Venkata Reddy is preparing to address a huge rally in Nalgonda on Sunday to establish his Telangana credentials. Venkata Reddy said he was not defying the party high command but was only trying to bring to its notice his resolve to be on the side of the people who want a separate Telangana state.Ruling out joining any other party, he said he would announce his action plan soon.He said he had information that incharge of state party affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad’s report on Telangana had no mention of a Telangana state or any proposal to divide the state.
