UP Woman Gives Poison to Her Three Children Before Consuming Herself, Dies
Neighbours informed the police and all four were rushed a primary health centre from where the three children were taken to Unnao in critical condition while the woman identified as Kekati was declared dead

A 32-year-old woman allegedly gave poison to her three children before consuming herself in Uttar Pradesh’s Bhadewara village on Thursday.

Neighbours of the lady informed the police about the incident and rescued all four members. They were rushed to a primary health centre where the woman identified as Kekati was declared dead.

The three children were taken to Unnao in critical condition.  The woman is said to be mentally ill for the last two years, police said.

Circle Officer Maya Roy said to news agency PTI that the woman fed poison to her daughter Mehak who is 9 years old; son Aryan, 7 years old; younger daughter Maanvi, 4 years old, and later consumed it herself. The children have been referred to a Kanpur hospital in a serious condition, added Roy.

The neighbours said that the woman’s husband Jagmohan and mother-in-law Dhunni Devi had gone to another village for labour when the incident happened.

Back in November, four women, between the ages of 18 and 20 years, consumed poisonous substances together in Bihar’s Aurangabad district in an apparent suicide pact. The incident led to the death of two women, while the other two are in critical condition and battling for their lives in Magadh Medical College, Gaya.

According to police, of the four women, two were sisters, and the other two were their friends. The family members of the four girls, including the two sisters, are clueless about the reason behind this suicide pact.

“The sisters consumed poisonous substances at home as they were upset over an issue. On learning of this, their two friends followed suit,” a police official said, according to a report by Times of India.
