KOCHI: In the wake of the Mullaperiyar dam issue, two more petitions have been filed before the Kerala High Court on Thursday seeking implementation of the Emergency Action Plan as per the guidelines prepared by the Central Water Commission (CWC) for the safety of the dams in the state. Two residents of Alappuzha moved the court alleging that the the authorities have failed to implement the emergency action plan as per the guidelines prepared by the CWC for the dams in the state. “Inspite of grave situation that exists with respect to the safety of dams, the state has failed to implement the dam safety procedures prepared by CWCÂ, M Jayamohan, a petitioner, pointed out. Meanwhile, Paul lttiadan of Idukki filed a petition seeking speedy steps to avert the damage and disaster from the threat posed to the safety and existence of the Mullaperiyar dam. The court will consider the petitions on Friday.
