BHUBANESWAR: Members, cutting across the party lines, on Wednesday demanded that the CR Pal Commission report on establishment of High Court bench in Western Orissa be tabled in the House. Raising the issue during zero hour, KV Singhdeo (BJP) said though the commission had already submitted its report to the State Government, it was not tabled in the House. Similar is the fate of the report of the Commission of Inquiry on the death of a student in Balangir. The report has been submitted but the Government is yet to table it, he added. The BJP leader said the Government sets up several commissions, but their reports are pigeonholed. He requested the Speaker to direct the Government to ensure that the reports of inquiry commissions set up from time to time should be placed in the House within a time frame. Leader of the Opposition Bhupinder Singh supported Singhdeo and wanted the CR Pal Commission report be placed in the House.Naba Kishore Das (Cong) demanded that the report of the Commission on Regional Imbalance should also be tabled in the House. He requested the Speaker to direct the Government to take steps for establishment of the High Court bench in western Orissa.
