Uttarakhand Assembly Speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal on Thursday expressed concern over the lackadaisical attitude of state officials in carrying out relief, repair and rehabilitation works, saying the victims of the 2013 disaster were not able to recover due to this.
During a discussion here, Kunjwal noted that despite efforts taken under the leadership of Chief Minister Harish Rawat, officials of the state were showing a lackadaisical attitude in carrying out the relief, repair and rehabilitation works.
Stating that the annual Char Dham pilgrimage to Hindu shrines in the state was to begin in May, he said if the officials did not expedite the works, the state would be faced with a bigger challenge.
